Doug
Hintz works with the Student
Support Services program and provides math assistance through
Math 253. He also teaches a two-term version of Math 111 and provides
support for basic
statistic courses: Math 243, Soc 312, and Psych 302. He earned
a B.S. in mathematics and a teaching certificate from the University
of Oregon in 1988. He immediately started a graduate program in
interdisciplinary studies (mathematics and education) and finished
in 1991 with his master's degree. He has taught mathematics since
1988, working extensively as a substitute teacher in the local high
schools and teaching part time at Lane Community College since 1989.
He enjoys seeing many of his former LCC students at the UO.
