Linda Kintz received her Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University
of Oregon in 1986 and has been part of the UO faculty since 1988. A professor
of English, she is a participating faculty member in the Comparative Literature,
Judaic Studies, Latin American Studies, and Women Studies Programs. Recent publications
include Between Jesus and the Market: The Emotions That Matter in Right-Wing
America (Duke University Press, 1997) and “Performing Virtual Whiteness:
The Psychic Fantasy of Globalization” in Comparative Literature (forthcoming).
