Priscilla Southwell received her Ph.D. in 1981 from the University of North
Carolina, Chapel Hill. She has taught at the UO since 1981 and now is a Professor
of Political Science, Department Chair, and Associate Dean, Social Sciences,
College of Arts and Sciences. Her specialty is political behavior, and her recent
research and publications have focused on such issues as the effects of all
mail elections and the relationship between ballot initiatives and voter turnout.
