Heather Stoneberg-Henry, McNair Scholar
Susan Hardwick received her Ph.D. in 1986 from the University of California,
Davis, and joined the UO faculty in 2000. Currently Associate Professor of Geography,
she also directs the Department of Geography’s summer program for educators.
Recent publications include Mythic Galveston: Re-Inventing America’s Third
Coast, (in press), Johns Hopkins University Press; Regional Geography of North
America: Environment, Landscape, Political Economy, and Culture (with Fred Shelley
and Andrew Marcus), under contract with Prentice-Hall; “Status of Women
