Ricky Chen, McNair Scholar

Professor Roxann Prazniak comes to the UO Honors College from her position as Elliott Professor of History at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. Her publications include Dialogues Across Civilizations: Sketches in World History from the Chinese and European Experiences (1996) and Of Camel Kings and Other Things: Rural Protest Against Modernity in Late Imperial China (1999). She is currently interested in pedogogical issues surrounding debates on Western Civilization and World History in the undergraduate cirriculum. Her current research project in its beginning stages undertakes a comparative historical study of the Chinese novel Flowers in the Mirror and Gulliver’s Travels.
