Carl McNair

A successful educator, businessman, and consultant, Carl S McNair is founder and CEO of McNair Achievement Programs in Atlanta, Georgia and founder of the Dr. Ronald E. McNair Foundation, Inc., established in honor of his brother. After earning his BA in industrial technology from North Carolina A & T State University, Carl McNair completed an MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts. During the last twenty years, Mr. McNair has dedicated his professional life to finding avenues that provide disadvantaged students preparation for careers they might never otherwise have considered and supporting services that encourage all students—regardless of ethnic, educational and social backgrounds—to aspire to the highest educational heights.

The goals of the McNair Foundation are to develop, implement, and support educational programs that motivate and encourage students to pursue careers in science, mathematics and technology. The Foundation is responsible for the creation of the Challenger Club Space and Science Camp, the After-school Challenger Club Science Program, the In-service Teachers Training Program as well as science workshops in Talent Search and Upward Bound programs across the country.

The University of Oregon benefits from the coveted Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Award, which helps institution such as ours contribute to Carl McNair’s dual mission-to further the legacy of his brother and to help people unleash their maximum potential to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Welcome Carl McNair to the University of Oregon!
