Craig Parsons, Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of European Studies, received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1999. He joined the UO faculty in 2004 after teaching at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School. Prof. Parsons’ core interests focus on “the ideas and interests that came together to construct today’s Europe.” Recent publications include “Puzzling out the EU Role in National Politics,” Journal of European Public Policy (2007) and How to Map Arguments in Political Science, (Oxford University Press, 2007). He was co-editor of Immigration and the Transformation of Europe, (Cambridge University Press, 2006) and is now working on political parties in the European Union.
