Ernesto J. Martínez received his Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from Cornell University in 2005. He joined the UO faculty the next year (2006) as Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, and English. His publications include “Shifting the Site of Queer Enunciation: Manuel Muñoz and the Politics of Form,” Gay Latino Studies: A Critical Reader (forthcoming); “Dying to Know: Suicidal Knowledge, Identity, and Responsibility in Baldwin’s Another Country” (under review); and Gay Latino Studies: A Critical Reader, co-edited with Michael Hames-García (under review). Currently, Prof. Martinez is the recipient of several UO research awards and is working on a new manuscript, Queers of Color and the Ethics of Social Literacy.
